Welcome! We are happy to introduce ourselves and our nature reserve nearby. We have private surf shack type rooms ( for surfers/ travelers/ backpackers) with tiny private pools and sea views. You can see every imaginable jungle animal from in our nearby mangroves and parks. We are a few minutes walk from all amenities, supermarkets, banks, clubs, bars and beach, yet far from noise. You can see the waves crashing from our place. We chose here after going through every part of the country and prefer it because of its mild weather, its lush tropical foliage and the local tours, unique to this area, such as chocolate and snorkeling tours. We are next to one of the only surviving coral reefs and as a result, the sea is filled with nature unlike any other anything else. The ocean offers the most incredible marine azure colors. We are very close to untouched national parks; some of the most beautiful jungles in the world with trees a hundred foot tall an misty rainforest canopies. It's easy to find your own secret hiding spot here among the dozens of beaches and alcoves within walking distances. It's easy to sometimes feel you just died and went to heaven when you feel the gentle breeze, hear the waves from your window and see views so unimaginably beautiful that they take your breath away... The area is intoxicatingly beautiful and euphoric to the senses.
We are the only bungalows directly on the beach. We are next to nature reserves famous for its mangroves + wildlife particularly birds, gators , monkeys, fish, sloths and baby turtle release. The park is great for rainbow fish snorkeling + wildlife tours + its dual beach island spit shape. At night you can see bioluminescence from our private beach. We have private swimming pools with sea/sunset views + starry nights. We designed the cabins for beach views + they are aerodynamically designed with a sunken bathroom so you get the fresh sea breeze/ sounds of waves. Each has its own kitchenette balcony and toilet/ shower. There are water activities eg catamaran waterslides for dolphin/whale viewing, hover boarding, jet skiing, parasailing, fishing, sauna/spa, surfing so see UNIQUE services offered below. The cabin interior eg kitchenette is basic. Some main restaurants offer room service. This is a budget (not resort) hotel.
Our rustic cute cabins are right on the beach in an authentic village. It is for you if you like endless beaches and an escape from the tourist crowd. The place is perfect for yoga, tree hugging, bohemian types :) This is a fishermen’s village + they are kind. There is some poverty/ recycling some guests are not used to. Please be mindful these are the homes of locals.
This little piece of paradise is not for you if occasional dog barks and roosters crowing bother you. We do require identification verification upon self check in within reception hours. You can go by road, either is fast/ a few minutes, park in road. All conveniences are near. I super adore the view of the sea and beach I have daily. I am proud of the local night mangrove tour as most animals are nocturnal so you can see more of them. I love massages, the local waterslides and the feeling of flying while zip lining over rainforest. I love Costa Rican chili/ passion fruit chocolate and strong coffee, tres leche condensed milk cake and garlic butter lobster or Caribbean rice and beans coconut seafood. I spend hours looking at shades of the sea which I find relaxing. I also like horseback riding and traveling to nearby countries.
If you are insect, animal/ dog, farm, nature, sand, or ethnicity phobic this is definitely not the place for you, but if you embrace alternative cultures/ nature/ conservation, permaculture, it is. We offer many tours at a half or third of the price of those listed online eg surf/ alligator/ baby turtle release/ horseback/ fishing/ medicinal herbs/ chocolate tours/ farmers markets/ dolphin/ some are free and many of these can only be found UNIQUELY near or @ our hotel.
The area is sure to please you with its incredible cascading waterfalls. Our pools are baby pools (of the bungalows only) are meant for cooling off and is made so that you can do yoga/ stretch exercises and enjoy the sea view. The trees here grow up to 270 feet high with bases of up to 17 feet that produce pods with a cotton type material. When you book you are supporting our community:) Before you arrive we supply you with links to restaurants, convenience stores, tours etc so all your needs are met via WhatsApp chat. We have a soft beach beginner board and it is a surf beach. Our direct beach has saved 100000 lora turtles which are critical to our sustainability. The restaurants here are very cost effective so you can afford to eat out often:)There are hot springs nearby as well as waterfalls, rappelling, zip-lining, white river water rafting, bird watching, surfing, butterfly, chocolate medicinal herb tours, a farmers market with exotic fruit like starfish fruit/mangosteen, tapestry markets. Salsas dancing or cooking classes. ATV driving, night animal tours. There are great clubs for dancing and bars everywhere and mini markets. The high end hotels are the highest rated in the world and it’s worth it to try their cuisine and drinks. We have pretty beaches of multiple colors, some are yellow, some pink, some black and some white. The sea colors change due to coral from various greens to blues. The worlds longest waterslide and zipline is here. There is a local waterslide park too. You can get massages/ do yoga/ meditate or visit a shaman. People here are known to live to 120 years old. A lot of indigenous people live here and they have a rich entertaining history if you care to look it up. It is a melting pot of Nicaraguan/Panamanian/Cuban and Costa Rican (seafood) cuisine meant for an immersive experience.
We also recommend all rainforests and National Parks/ beaches and viewing treehouses. Canopy/white river rafting are our favorites and glass bottomed or kayak boat tours in Damas. Just over the border are Bocas del Toro islands if you have time or Omotepe Island. Local “Fraiche” perfume and coffee are great gift ideas. We suggest you go through Damas Island with your picnic basket for a picnic up to turtle sanctuary, to see nature there ( or rescue babies/ by appointment). Please see our profile link here. You can also only see alligators here and this is possibly the best surf beach in area.
